Learn • Grow • Harvest • Enjoy
Since I was a kid, I’ve always liked being outside and have had a small garden since I can remember. The first memory of a garden problem I have is having to figure out why my lettuce was dying. Turns out the splash water from the pool was draining straight to my garden..
But I’m not a master gardener. I’ve picked it up on and off for years. As I’ve grown older, I’ve realized the importance of getting back to it. Not just to grow my own vegetables and be a ‘homesteader’.
For me it’s more about that TEA! Joking. Kind of.
But in all honesty growing herbs and using them in teas, herbal baths, and the food I cook just makes me feel better. Knowing that I grew something useful.
My Story
Container Garden
99% of my plants are in containers because I’m a renter right now. We are living in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, zone 7a. We have plans to go back to Florida and have a nice big garden there, so keeping everything in containers will make transport easier later.
Indoor Garden
Virginia gets cold. Colder than we realized and for longer too. So we have a basement garden setup with grow lights, a grow tent and heaters/humidifiers so that we can do our best to grow all year long, like we could in Florida.

My Philosophy
I am not an herbalist, doctor, or gardening expert.
This site is a record of what I am growing, learning, creating, and experimenting with. Some things work beautifully. Some fail completely.
My goal is to share the process honestly so that others can learn alongside me.
